Art 22
Spring 2015/Winter 2016
UPDATE: Added dropdown menu to 'Portfolio' using JavaScript for easy access.
This is a website that I made for my Art 22 final project, completed on March 18, 2016.
It will eventually be a fully-functional personal portfolio with its own domain and more content.
So far it is mostly a taste of what is to come. For example, on the "Portfolio" page, there is one example
of an image thumbnail link that will eventually be accompanied by others like it for other art categories (like illustration, design, etc).
The thumbnail leads to a page that will further categorize "Photography" into "Events", "Portraits", etc,
and these image links will lead to their respective image galleries.
I coded the site from scratch with help from references from w3schools.com.
A big thank you to my parents who are sharing their server and domain with me for this project
(hence the "bellagiophoto.com" address, which is my mom's personal business website).
I wanted to code a full website for my final project because every artist needs an online presence these days,
an online portfolio and resume arguably being the most important presence.
I thought it would be even better
to code my own website rather than using a pre-made template because it not only makes my page more personal,
but it also displays my knowledge in HTML/CSS, which would be helpful if I want to pursue a career in
web development/design (which I am interested in).
Overall I had a fun time with this project and I hope to work on the website further in the future as I
continue to accumulate content to share through it. I had some trouble with some code that I was unable to figure out,
but I am hoping to keep working at it and make the website how I envision it.
